Replacing every window in the house — in the middle of winter, just days before a Valentine’s dinner — changed more than the temperature. It changed how the house feels.

A reminder to host the party anyway. The house doesn’t have to be finished to be full.

Last year at this time, we were replacing every window in the house — in the dead of winter — days before a Valentine’s dinner party.

Not glamorous. Slightly unhinged. Completely worth it.

The difference these made: quiet rooms, warmer night and so much mote natural light. It’s amazing how big on an impact new windows can have on a space.

The parlor is officially wrapped in Behr Dynasty – Binary Star, and yes… it’s exactly the moody, classic blue we hoped for. (Phew!) Rich, dramatic, and somehow still timeless.

Next up:
• refinishing & hanging our pocket doors
• corbels + panel molding
• hardware + picture lamps
• furnishing the space

Paint may be the foundation—but the magic lives in the details. ✨
