Adding the crown moulding defines each coffer, sharpens the lines, and brings the entire room into focus. Measured, mitered, and adjusted (many times) to work with a house that refuses to be square—but the result is worth every minute. Using 2×4s and ½” sanded plywood, we built the framework that will define the entire ceiling—measured, laser-leveled, and adjusted about a dozen times in a house where nothing (and I mean nothing) is square.
